Water is no longer just a utility issue—it’s a critical driver of where and how commercial real estate can grow in Central Texas. This program will explore how state and regional water policy decisions are shaping development feasibility, infrastructure investment, and long-term market sustainability.

Join Jeremy Mazur, Director of Infrastructure and Natural Resources Policy at Texas 2036, for an overview of recent legislative actions and forward-looking strategies related to water infrastructure funding, regional utility coordination, and emerging policy initiatives impacting Texas growth.

You’ll also hear from a panel of experts including, Walt Smith, Commissioner for Hays County Precinct 4, Josh Schroder, Shareholder at Sneed, Vine, & Perry, P.C., and Mayor of Georgetown as well as Dr. Keisuke Ikehata, Associate professor of Civil Engineering at Texas State specializing in Water quality and advancing technology. This panel will bring together those studying water and those fighting for policy across the region to bring comprehensive solutions to Central Texas. The panel will feature a discussion on real-world challenges and opportunities in delivering water and wastewater services to fast-growing regions—and what CRE professionals should understand about utility planning, coordination, and constraints.
